We’ve got a new favorite coastal spot (and some exciting news)!
Silk & Shadows is now a preferred vendor for planning and coordination at Surfsand Resort and we’re genuinely so happy about it.
If you’ve never been, Surfsand is one of those places that feels like a true Oregon coast experience. You’re right on the ocean, with views of Haystack Rock, the sound of waves in the background, and that soft coastal light that makes everything feel a little more cinematic.
And then there’s the ceremony access!
There’s this little hidden path that leads you through the bushes down to the beach. It honestly feels like a secret passage. Quiet, a little wild, a little magical. You step through and suddenly you’re on the sand, ready for the ceremony. It’s one of those moments guests remember.

That path is beautiful, but it will absolutely try to claim it.
For us, this has quickly become one of our favorite places to bring couples who want a beach wedding that still feels elevated and intentional. It fits so naturally with what we love to create. Yes, it’s slightly outside the Portland metro area, but we’re in Cannon Beach for events all the time and keep our travel fees reasonable. It’s very doable.
The only real challenge is parking in the summer. It becomes a bit of a competitive sport. We’ve learned to plan ahead and build that into the timeline so no one is circling the block five minutes before the ceremony.
