An Early Reveal from Our 2026 Bingo Card

I have a little confession to make!

Alongside all of our spreadsheets, revenue goals, consultation targets, and everything else that comes with running a business, Sasha and I also have something we affectionately call the Silk & Shadows Bingo Card. It's exactly what it sounds like: a list of things we'd love to accomplish by the end of 2026. Some of the squares are business-related, some are completely sentimental, and a few are just those oddly specific little goals that are fun to celebrate.

The plan has always been to reveal the whole thing at the end of next year. Partly because I think it'll be fun to look back and see what happened, but mostly because I've never liked making big announcements before they're real. I'm not particularly superstitious, but I do believe in waiting until a project is at least 75% finished before telling the world about it. Silk & Shadows itself is probably the best example. By the time our friends and family heard we were starting a wedding planning business, the website was already built, the branding was finished, the paperwork had been filed, and there wasn't much left to do except press "Publish."

With that in mind, no full Bingo Card reveal just yet, but I couldn't resist sharing one square. Book a wedding at Victorian Belle. If you've been following us for a while, you'll know why that one mattered so much. Victorian Belle is where Sasha and I got married. It's where we celebrated one of the happiest days of our lives, so every time we come back, it feels a little like coming home. We've quietly hoped that one day we'd get to experience the venue from the other side, helping another couple celebrate their own story there.

On June 28, we finally got to do exactly that.

Not only were we coordinating the wedding, but Sasha also had the privilege of officiating the ceremony, which somehow made the whole day feel even more special. You know those weddings where every single detail feels like it belongs to the people getting married? Nothing feels copied from Pinterest or done because that's just what weddings are supposed to look like. Everything has personality. This was one of those weddings.

There was tintype photography. A poet sitting behind a vintage typewriter writing beautifully eerie poems for guests. A custom-built moon backdrop for portraits. The funniest first look we've ever seen, thanks to the best man happily volunteering to wear a white dress while the groom waited by the fountain. And somewhere in the middle of all that, I had what was quite possibly the best slice of wedding cake I've ever eaten. It was whimsical, bespoke, magical, funny, emotional and 100% unapologetic. Very hard to beat.

And while we aren't ready to reveal the rest of the Bingo Card quite yet, it makes me very happy to quietly cross this one off.
